A Dictionary Of Color Combinations 348 color combinations
Product Description
This compact color scheme sample book contains 348 color combinations compiled by Sanzo Wada in the early Showa era. It is a reprint of his "Haishoku Soukan" (Dictionary of Color Combinations), newly compiled for a modern edition.

The color schemes gathered here are historical material from 1930s Japan that remain useful today. The book includes 348 color combinations, each with CMYK values and color chips, making it a practical reference for color coordinators, interior designers, and anyone researching or applying color in their work.
Sanzo Wada (1883-1967) was a Japanese artist, costume designer, and color researcher. In 1927 he founded the Japan Standard Color Association and released Japan's first "Japan Standard Color Card" of 500 colors; the organization was later reorganized into the Japan Color Research Institute, which still exists today. He received the 1954 Academy Award for Best Costume Design for "Gate of Hell" and was recognized by the Japanese government as a Person of Cultural Merit in 1958.
