Originally released in September 1978, Time Passages was Al Stewart's third collaboration with producer Alan Parsons, following the platinum success of Year of the Cat. Recorded at Davlen Studios in Los Angeles between late 1977 and early 1978, the album became a critical and commercial triumph, reaching the US Billboard Top 10 and the UK Top 40. Highlights include "Valentina Way," "Life in Dark Water," "The Palace of Versailles," "Timeless Skies," "Almost Lucy," and the hit title track "Time Passages."
