Nagao Niji 5-Piece Dinner Cutlery Set 18/8 Stainless Made in Japan
Product Description
This Niji cutlery series is crafted in Tsubame, Niigata, Japan from high‑quality 18-8 stainless steel (SUSXM7), with the dinner knife made from stainless steel and finished separately. Each piece features a slim, contemporary silhouette: a gently flared fan-shaped handle, slightly elongated bowl or blade, and a reverse arch profile that feels refined yet comfortable in the hand. The scoop surfaces, blade edges, and backs are mirror-finished, following the premium standards of professional hotel and restaurant cutlery.
The signature rainbow look is created by a multi-layer heat treatment that uses light refraction, not pigments or coatings. Depending on the viewing angle, a single utensil shifts from deep, subdued tones to vivid, bright colors. Achieving this effect requires seven separate heat treatments and extremely precise control of temperature, time, and height differences; even with eight hours of operation, only about 50 pieces can be produced per day. This meticulous process results in a uniquely expressive piece for the everyday table, adding a hint of color while letting people and food remain the stars.
