DeAgostini Japan presents the "Weekly 'Build the Evangelion Unit-01'" series, starting from January 4, 2024. This series allows you to assemble the Evangelion Unit-01 that appears in the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series using various materials including die-cast parts. The series is planned to run for 100 issues, and by the end, you will have created a 1/144 scale Evangelion Unit-01 model standing approximately 55.5cm tall.

The model is designed to replicate the texture and color of the Unit-01 as if it has jumped straight out of the movie, using multi-materials such as metal and plastic. The joints are covered with a flexible material, allowing for a variety of poses. This is a unique, full-scale model that will be completed with the help of a driver and instant adhesive that come with the kit, and pre-painted parts that come with each issue.

Product Specification

The model kit includes four weapons that appear in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, each with its own gimmick and detailed design. It also comes with two key items from the series, the Spear of Longinus and the Spear of Cassius. These are the same scale as the Evangelion Unit-01 and can be posed in various ways. The only tools needed for assembly are the instant adhesive and the screwdriver, both of which are provided with the magazine. No special tools are required, making it easy for beginners to assemble.

Additional Features

The model features light-up eyes and core, an automatically opening and closing entry plug hatch, and four types of handheld weapons. The neck, wrists, and hip joints are movable, allowing you to recreate poses from the series. The model can be beautifully and functionally displayed on a dedicated pedestal designed to resemble the ejection hub terminal.

The accompanying magazine provides a comprehensive introduction to all the works in the series, from the TV series to the latest "Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version". It also includes an interview with Ryuu Sakano, who was responsible for the original model design and production.
