ベートーヴェン:弦楽四重奏曲全集 (完全生産限定盤)
The Ultimate SA-CD Hybrid Collection 10th Release
The best masterpieces of the historical quartet that opened a new door to the history of string quartets in the 20th century.
■Formed in 1917 by members of the Budapest State Opera Orchestra, the Budapest String Quartet (BSQ) was active for exactly half a century in a unique performance career until it was deactivated in 1967. The quartet changed members several times, eventually being composed of four Russian Jews, and from the 1940s onward, it transformed into an international quartet based in the United States.
This Beethoven cycle, recorded between 1958 and 1961, is the BSQ's third recording after two SP and monaural recordings, and the only stereo recording of Beethoven's string quartets by one of the most famous quartets of the 20th century, and presents the ultimate in Beethoven string quartet music. The quartet's performance of Beethoven's exquisite sound structure is beautifully rendered while expressing the essence and willful power of the richly flavored music, and is truly the pinnacle of Beethoven performance as recorded here. The clarity of the sound recorded at Columbia 30th Street Studios has been restored from the original analog masters, almost 40 years after its first release on CD, in the latest remastering.
