Product Description

This versatile transceiver supports all bands from HF to 430MHz and all modes, including DV. It features a DV repeater monitor function, allowing users to monitor the status of the repeater when making area CQ calls via D-STAR. This function enables users to access repeaters over the internet, monitor the situation, and understand the timing of communication completion. It supports monitoring both domestic and international repeaters.

Even while monitoring, the reception of the nearest repeater is prioritized, ensuring that users do not miss calls to their station.

The transceiver covers HF, 50MHz, 144MHz, and 430MHz in all modes, including SSB, CW, RTTY, AM, FM, and D-STAR® DV mode. It also offers continuous reception from 30kHz to 144MHz, allowing users to enjoy FM broadcasts and airband reception.

It adopts the RF direct sampling method, converting RF signals directly into digital signals and processing them with an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). This method eliminates non-linear distortion that occurs in mixers during analog signal processing, achieving excellent phase noise characteristics and, for the first time in its class, a high-speed, high-resolution real-time spectrum scope and waterfall display.

The real-time spectrum scope and waterfall display inherit the performance and functions of the highly acclaimed IC-7300 and IC-9700 scopes. This allows users to visually grasp band conditions, check for vacant frequencies, and perform advanced operations beyond traditional field operations. It also features a SCROLL mode for seamless wideband visibility.

The transceiver is equipped with a large 4.3-inch color display, the same size as the IC-7300 and IC-9700, supporting touch operation for intuitive setting adjustments. This significantly improves visibility and operability in the field.

For FT8 operation, the transceiver offers easy settings. Users can select FT8 from the [Preset] screen to configure all necessary items at once. Switching back to normal mode is also smooth, requiring only the selection of [Normal]. Additionally, presets 3 to 5 can be written with new preset information, supporting future new digital modes, including SSTV.

The transceiver boasts a lightweight and compact body, with dimensions of approximately 20cm in width, 8.35cm in height, and 8.2cm in depth, and a weight of about 1.1kg (including the BP-272 battery pack). It is designed to be easily portable with one hand.

It features a high-performance GPS antenna and GPS logger, compatible with the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System "Michibiki." In D-STAR® DV mode, users can send and receive location information while talking. This high-performance GPS enables various functions, including GPS logging, automatic listing of nearby repeaters, recording the station's position in communication recording files, and correcting the built-in clock's time.

The transceiver is equipped with a microSD card slot, allowing users to record communication content, save transmission audio, RTTY decode logs, capture display screen images, store various radio settings, and utilize data for firmware updates and cloning.

It also features a micro USB port with two COM ports, enabling simultaneous rig control and CW or RTTY operation. Connecting to a PC via a USB cable allows FT8 operation, and it supports audio (modulation/demodulation).
