Blending pop, post-disco, rock, and funk, it was crafted with producer Quincy Jones at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
All seven singles reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the album became—and remains—one of the best-selling albums worldwide. Thriller earned multiple U.S. multi-platinum certifications and won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including Album of the Year.
