Toyco Mini Sound Nishitetsu Bus, Friction Toy Bus with Horn, Door and Engine Sounds
Product Description
Mini Sound Nishitetsu Bus (ミニサウンド西鉄バス) is a small friction-powered toy bus in the livery of Nishitetsu (Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd., headquartered in Fukuoka), made by Toyco Co., Ltd. (トイコー) of Sumida, Tokyo. It belongs to Toyco's Sound Series, and Toyco calls it a compact size that is easy to play with. Three buttons on the roof play three sounds: a horn, a door opening and closing, and an engine. Toyco lists no announcements or spoken words for this model. A small volume button changes the volume, and an ON-OFF switch turns the sound on and off. A slide lever on the roof opens and closes two doors. In Toyco's photos the middle door is marked 入口 (entrance) and the front door 出口 (exit), the same way round as Nishitetsu's own guide for children describes its buses: get on at the middle door and get off at the front. The bus is white with green, blue, brown, pink and orange bands in Toyco's photos. Toyco lists no lights on this model. It is a toy, and Toyco gives no scale.

How to Use
Batteries: press the button on the battery cover with a pointed tip such as a ballpoint pen while sliding the cover in the direction of the arrow. Insert two AA batteries the right way round, as shown on Toyco's card, and close the cover. Play: switch the sound ON, then press the three roof buttons for the horn, the door sound and the engine sound. Press the volume button with a pointed tip to change the volume. Slide the roof lever to open and close the doors. To run the bus, press the rear wheels against the floor and slide it forward to build up speed, then let go and it runs forward. Switch the sound OFF when play is finished. If there is no sound, Toyco's FAQ says to check that the batteries are fitted firmly, the right way round, and are not flat.
Toyco's cautions on the card: do not ride on the bus, put it in the mouth or bring it near fire. Do not hit or throw it, and do not use it if it is damaged. Keep fingers and hair away from the tyres. Do not use it close to the ear, as this can damage hearing. Do not leave it in contact with resin sheets or painted surfaces, because colour can transfer or paint can stick. Batteries: never use rechargeable batteries; do not mix old and new batteries or different types; fit + and - correctly; do not short-circuit, charge, take apart, heat or burn them. If battery fluid gets in the eyes, rinse at once with plenty of water and see a doctor; wash it off skin or clothes with water. Dispose of the product according to local rules.
