We have an important update regarding changes to U.S. import duties and related shipping services. This change affects all businesses shipping goods from Japan to the United States, including our store.

Changes to U.S. import rules

1) Flat 15% duty introduced

Effective Friday, August 29, 2025, the U.S. government will eliminate the duty‑free de minimis exemption that previously applied to imports valued at $800 or less.

In connection with this change, the U.S. government has announced a new flat 15% duty on goods imported from Japan.

As a result, going forward all goods imported into the United States—regardless of purchase amount—will be subject to this new duty.

2) Temporary suspension of Japan Post services to the U.S.

In response to the above U.S. policy change, Japan Post has announced that, as of Wednesday, August 27, 2025, it will temporarily suspend acceptance of international parcels and EMS (merchandise) bound for the United States.

First, a commitment to our customers:

At this time, we will not pass the new duty through to our product prices. To keep pricing fair and transparent, we will continue to price items based on their intrinsic value, as we always have.

1) Shipping via Japan Post

Effective today, Japan Post has been removed from our shipping options.

FedEx and DHL remain available as usual.

2) Duties and other taxes

While our product prices remain unchanged, shipments via FedEx or DHL will require you to pay duties and related fees separately from the merchandise price.

When your package arrives in the U.S., the carrier will contact you directly with instructions to pay the applicable duty (typically 15%) and any customs clearance/brokerage fees. Please complete the payment to receive your parcel.

Customs authorities now require more precise information than before. At checkout, please enter your shipping address, full name, and phone number in correct English.

If any information is incomplete or inaccurate, customs clearance may be significantly delayed, or your package may be returned. Thank you for your attention.
