About Hayao Miyazaki
Hayao Miyazaki was born in Tokyo in 1941. He is a renowned animation film director who graduated from Gakushuin University, Faculty of Political Science and Economics in 1963. Miyazaki joined Toei Doga (now Toei Animation) and worked on the theatrical film "The Great Adventure of Horus, Prince of the Sun" ('68). He has also worked on "Panda Copanda" series ('72, '73) as an original planner, scriptwriter, scene designer, and director. In 1985, he participated in the establishment of Studio Ghibli. His major works include "Conan: The Future Boy" ('78), "Lupin III: Cagliostro" ('78), "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" ('84), "Castle in the Sky" ('86), "My Neighbor Totoro" ('88), "The Witch's Delivery Service" ('89), "Red Pig" ('92), "Princess Mononoke" ('97), "Spirited Away" ('01), "Howl's Moving Castle" ('04), "Ponyo on the Cliff"('08), and "The Wind Rises" ('13). He is also the author of "Shuna's Journey," "Starting Point," "The Turning Point," "The Tobira to the Book" and others.
