Author's Introduction
Gentaro Kagawa was born in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture in 1959. He is a member of the Japan Castle History Society and an illustrator specializing in historical illustrations. Many of his works have been published in history textbooks and reference books. Since 2000, he has been in charge of restoration illustrations for the popular serial "Sengoku no Shiro" (Castles of the Warring States) in "Rekishi Gunzo" (One Publishing). His "Maze Picture Book" series (PHP Kenkyujo) is a huge bestseller, selling over 3 million copies. Other books include "Kazu no Bouken" series (Shogakukan), "Hikari no Scepter" (Kawade Shobo Shinsha), "Reviving Japanese Castles" (PHP Research Institute), and "Wide & Panoramic Bird's-eye View and Restoration Illustrations of Sengoku Castles" (One Publishing).
