About the Author

Hayao Miyazaki, born in Tokyo in 1941, is a celebrated animation film director. He graduated from Gakushuin University, Faculty of Political Science and Economics in 1963, and joined Toei Doga. Miyazaki has worked on numerous projects, including "The Great Adventure of Horus, Prince of the Sun," "Panda Copanda," "Conan: Future Boy," "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro," and "Detective Holmes." In 1985, he co-founded Studio Ghibli and directed several acclaimed films such as "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind," "Laputa: Castle in the Sky," "My Neighbor Totoro," "The Witch's Delivery Service," "Red Pig," "Princess Mononoke," and "Spirited Away."
