The NEW LEGALIS spinning reel, enhanced with AIRDRIVE DESIGN and ZAION V, offers a more nimble and lightweight experience for anglers. The LEGALIS series has undergone a full model change, incorporating the newly adopted ZAION V for the body and rotor, making it stiffer and lighter. The LT2500S-XH model, for instance, is 20g lighter than its predecessor. The reel features interchangeable SLPW/RCS handles and handle knobs, allowing for greater customization.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN is a next-generation concept aimed at providing anglers with precise lure manipulation. It includes four key technologies: the Air Drive rotor for light unwinding and high-response rotation, the Air Drive bail for a lightweight and trouble-free experience, the Air Drive spool with a thin-wall design to reduce weight, and a non-contact air drive shaft that minimizes rotational noise even under heavy loads. These features, combined with an improved weight balance, result in high-dimensional operability.

The AIRDRIVE ROTOR is designed based on an original theory, featuring a shape that appears to be cut directly from a sphere. By removing unnecessary material, the rotor maintains its rigidity while achieving significant weight reduction. The AIRDRIVE BAIL further reduces the weight of the rotor unit while maintaining the necessary strength for actual fishing, contributing to a significant reduction in rotational inertia and improved operability. The arm lever's new shape also significantly reduces line tangling.

ZAION V is a carbon hybrid resin developed to achieve a high level of lightness and strength, surpassing metal in some aspects. This material is used for the body, rotor, and body cover, enhancing the reel's overall performance. The TOUGH DIGIGEAR ensures smooth rotation over a longer period, while the LC-ABS (Long Cast ABS) spool design reduces contact resistance for smoother line release, enabling longer casts. The ATD TYPE-L drag system enhances the initial response of the spool, allowing anglers to focus on the fight without worrying about drag settings.

The LEGALIS series also features a screw-in handle for the first time, allowing for the attachment of SLPW/RCS handles and other screw-in reel handles for greater customization. Medium to large-sized models come with a Power Light Type EVA knob, which is easy to grip and apply force, making it easier to reel in heavy lures and under heavy loads. The newly shaped Perfect Line Stopper accommodates both thin lines like PE and thicker lines such as leaders, saving vertical space and contributing to spool weight reduction.
