Suehiro HW5G-DADA Dual-Grit Diamond Dresser #150/#500 with Handle Case
Product Description
This dual-sided diamond sharpening stone is designed for quick surface correction of concave sharpening stones. It features a robust diamond coating on both sides, with #150 grit for initial flattening and #500 grit for finishing. This tool works well with high-hardness stones, including the "Kyokumyo," "Hikarishi," and "DEBADO" series, and is effective from coarse to finishing stones. The included plastic storage case doubles as a handle.
The diamond surface is not only for correction but also suitable for polishing hard metal blades with oil. Note that the diamond pattern may vary, but this does not affect functionality. The #150 and #500 sides can be swapped using the included opener, which slides out from the case's side. Insert the opener between the main plate and the case, lift using leverage, flip the plate, and reinsert to switch sides.
How to Use
This sharpening stone uses diamond particles, the hardest on Earth, but it is not indestructible. The diamond particles are bonded using an electroplating method, which may wear over time, reducing sharpening effectiveness. Metal exposure can lead to rust, but functionality remains as long as diamond particles are present. After use, wipe off moisture and store the stone dry in its case.
