This strictly limited analog box set celebrates Ryuichi Sakamoto's landmark 1987 worldwide solo release "NEO GEO" in a deluxe 4-disc edition for collectors and international fans. Co-produced with Bill Laswell and featuring genre-defining guests such as Sly Dunbar and Bootsy Collins, the album fuses electronic soundscapes with Okinawan music, Balinese traditional music, and other organic, ethnic elements, recorded between Tokyo and New York and released in over 20 countries.
The set includes 2 vinyl records and 2 Blu-ray discs: a newly cut 33 1/3RPM LP of "NEO GEO," a 45RPM 12-inch single "RISKY" (featuring Iggy Pop on vocals) with extended and instrumental versions, plus two Blu-rays featuring the NEO GEO Tour live at NHK Hall (July 1987) and NEO GEO Live in New York (June 1988), both newly up-converted using the latest technology. Also included are a booklet featuring an interview with guitarist Haruo Kubota, a replica fold-out poster pamphlet, replica postcard, and special box packaging; available only while supplies last.
