The Sony RNPK-5T/W REON POCKET 5 Sensing Kit, set to release on April 23, 2024, represents the most advanced iteration in the series with significantly enhanced cooling capabilities. The device boasts a heat absorption performance that is approximately 1.5 times greater than its predecessors, thanks to a newly designed thermoelectric module. This improvement allows for extended operation times, with the device capable of running up to approximately 4 hours at the highest cooling setting and about 7.5 hours at the next level down. Enhanced automatic control features make temperature adjustment quicker and more responsive to environmental changes, providing optimal cooling or warming as needed.
Product Specification
The REON POCKET 5 supports various modes including SMART COOL, SMART WARM, manual, auto, and custom modes, among others. It measures approximately 55mm x 23mm x 117mm for the device alone, and weighs about 116g. The device operates within a temperature range of 5°C to 40°C and uses Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy for connectivity. It is compatible with iOS 13 and above, as well as Android 8 and above. The built-in lithium-ion battery offers substantial operational durations, varying by mode and cooling level.
Enhanced Sensing Capabilities
The REON POCKET 5 comes with the REON POCKET TAG, which features three built-in sensors to detect environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, and light. These sensors help in adjusting the device's temperature settings according to real-time conditions. The TAG can be used independently to monitor environmental conditions and is particularly useful in places like baby strollers to check on the ambient temperature and humidity.
Materials and Durability
The cooling and warming surfaces of the REON POCKET 5 are made from stainless steel SUS316L, ensuring durability and resistance to wear. The device also features splash-proof sealing to protect against sweat and water droplets, although it is not completely waterproof.
Charging and Battery Life
The device charges via a USB Type-C port, with a full charge taking approximately 170 minutes, and reaching 90% charge in about 100 minutes. Battery life varies significantly based on the operational mode, with cooling times ranging from 17 hours at the lowest setting to 4 hours at the highest. Warming times range from 8 hours at the lowest setting to 4 hours at the highest.

The kit includes the REON POCKET 5 device, a neckband, a USB Type-C L-shaped cable, airflow parts in short and long sizes, a start guide, a warranty card, the REON POCKET TAG, and a lithium coin battery (CR2032). Note that a USB AC adapter is not included.

The REON POCKET TAG is compatible with earlier models such as the REON POCKET 3 and 4, allowing users to utilize advanced features like SMART COOL⇔WARM MODE and SMART WARM MODE when linked with these devices.
