The GMW-BZ5000 continues the legacy of the original G-SHOCK DW-5000C, evolving the iconic square 5000 Series with advanced materials and functions. Using over 40 years of G-SHOCK shock-resistance data, this model incorporates a human–AI co-created generative design for both the internal structure and exterior, achieving a bold, futuristic look while maintaining the classic full-metal square form.

A newly developed bezel-and-center-case structure connects the case from top and bottom, revealing complex case-side geometry that showcases structural beauty. An internal resin inner protector absorbs impact through elastic deformation, allowing the full-metal stainless-steel screw-back case to meet G-SHOCK’s stringent shock-resistance standards. The high-resolution MIP (Memory in Pixel) LCD delivers wide viewing angles, high contrast, and excellent readability even in bright sunlight, with a solar-optimized MIP display enabling multiple switchable time layouts and a classic 7-segment-style main display via the CASIO WATCHES app.

Engineered for everyday reliability, the GMW-BZ5000 features Tough Solar (solar charging system), 20-bar water resistance, and Multi Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping for precise automatic time adjustment across Japan, North America, Europe, and China. Bluetooth connectivity enables smartphone link functions via the CASIO WATCHES app, including time sync and world time (55 cities, 38 time zones). Additional features include stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms with snooze, power-saving mode, battery level indicator, full auto-calendar, 12/24-hour formats, LED backlight with afterglow, and up to about 6 months of operation (about 22 months in power-saving mode) on a full charge without further light exposure.
