The W Speed Engine rotates the lead once every 20 strokes—twice as fast as the standard Kuru Toga—helping prevent chisel tips and uneven lines. A slide pipe lets you write without extending the lead, reducing breakage; note that this protection works only when the lead is not protruding from the tip.
