mocopi" is a mobile motion capture system that can be used with the Xperia series and iPhone models. It can be used at home or outdoor locations without the need for a studio, as the whole body can be captured simply by providing six wearable sensors and a smartphone.
The six sensors to be worn are attached to the head, waist, both wrists, and ankles. Instead of a special suit or other large-scale equipment, the small, lightweight sensors, 32 mm in diameter and weighing 8 g, can be used simply by wearing them.
Another feature of "mocopi" is its simple and easy-to-use user interface (UI). The dedicated application can be used to record motion data as well as videos fleshed out with preset or user-prepared avatar data. The avatar's mouth lip-syncs to the audio.
It can also be used with a single smartphone.
For example, motion data can be worked on and edited in 3DCG editing software such as "Motion Builder" or "Unity" on a PC, or motion data can be uploaded directly to a web service such as "VR Chat" for use.
Motion data is transmitted over a network, so it can be used on a PC or other device connected to the network. Motion data can also be sent in real time.
